Genee Francis, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed by the State of Texas providing counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Genee began her counseling practice with Dr. Carolyn Maurer at LifeSpan Counseling as an LPC-Intern in 2009. Genee has expertise in several areas including:

Genee is PREPARE/ENRICH certified. PREPARE/ENRICH program is used for premarital counseling, marriage preparation, marriage counseling and marriage enrichment. PREPARE/ENRICH includes a comprehensive couple assessment along with feedback using skills building exercises. Genee assisted with developing a curriculum for the Twogether in Texas approved premarital workshops offered by Life Span Counseling.

Genee has over 10 years of experience working in various counseling roles within education. Genee has served as an instructor, an advisor/program counselor, a housing professional, a student development specialist, both a career and personal counselor, and most recently, as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. In these experiences, Genee has had the opportunity to counsel children, adolescents, adults and families in a variety of settings including alternative secondary schools, private & public Universities, social service organizations, churches, and clinical settings.

As an educator, Genee is experienced at instruction and curriculum development and is able to carry these skills over to her counseling profession. Genee assisted with creating the curriculum for a psycho-educational Girls Empowerment Group that provided a safe place for adolescent aged teenage girls to discuss issues and learn about their journey to womanhood. Genee has developed Anger Management curriculum and co-facilitated parenting and anger management classes focused on educating parents on how to create a healthy home environment for their children.

Genee is a change agent who is skilled at developing and empowering others. Genee uses counseling methods that encourage clients to discover and use their own God-given strengths to help meet personal goals. Genee's approach is a collaborative partnership that includes meeting individuals where they are and is flexible to meet the unique needs of each client.
